Hi, I’m Karyn Claflin

I’m a Master Certified BodyMind Coach with a background in massage, meditation, and yoga. Using a custom blend of coaching, massage therapy, and movement & wellness education, I help busy folks who are tired from always taking care of others (at work and home) and feeling weighed down by their stress to create balance between doing the things they love and getting done all-the-things they need to do.

When you’re exhausted, overwhelmed with the day-to-day responsibilities of life, or just trying to get through the day, you can’t be your best.

And I truly believe the world needs you to be your best. We need you to show up and be the most amazing version of you—not just another exhausted person dragging yourself through life.

Because when you are present for your life and doing your best, you inspire others, you lift them up. And I don’t know about you, but that’s the world I want to live in. Not the one where it seems like most people are just dragging themselves through life.

My Background

After spending several years hunching over a desk trying to meet ever-shortening deadlines, I developed wrist and shoulder pain. It was quite a journey to resolve the pain, but it led me to trying out massage for my own pain, then to studying massage. I completed my initial Massage Therapy education at Parkland College and I’ve been a Massage Therapist since 2013.

But I was still stressed out all the time. I had thought that if I got rid of the stressful job, I’d be much less stressed. I also noticed that while my clients would feel AMAZING after their massage, over the next hours or days or weeks, little bits of stress would pile back in. And the next time I saw them, they’d have the same stress and their pain would be back.

The thing is, stressful things are always going to happen. You can’t escape stress, but you can learn to manage your reaction to it, so when stressful things pop up, your day doesn’t get derailed.

That’s why I’ve combined my years of experience and education as a Massage Therapist, Meditation and Yoga Teacher, and Coach to help you learn to take better care of yourself every single day, instead of just when you make time for a massage, bubble bath, or vacation.

Professional Bio

Karyn is a life balance coach and Master Certified BodyMind Coach. She’s also a Certified Yoga Teacher in The Kaivalya Yoga Method, Certified Aromatherapist, Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Illinois and has a Bachelor of Arts from University of Pittsburgh.

After struggling with burnout in various helping professions and her own business, Karyn realized the key to successful stress management is living life on your terms. Now she helps other busy folks create lives that work for them without the constant busy-ness and the feeling like they’re going to let someone else down, and instead connecting to the wisdom of their bodies and embodying joy and freedom.
